Contributing to the achievement of OSS 10, Promoting and Strengthening the Social, Economic and Political Inclusion of Migrants, Returnees and Persons at Risk of Unsafe Migration in the East Hararge and Dire Dawa Areas, Ethiopia AID 012590/07/6

Expert in migration and development, with a special focus on migration from Ethiopia, particularly concerning women and children

On the initiative entitled "Contributing to the Achievement of OSS 10: Promoting and Strengthening the Social, Economic, and Political Inclusion of Migrants, Returnees, and Persons at Risk of Unsafe Migration in the East Hararge and Dire Dawa Areas, Ethiopia (AID 012590/07/6)", the procedure for identifying the following position commences today:

  • Expert in migration and development, with a special focus on migration from Ethiopia, particularly concerning women and children.

Candidates must possess at least five years of experience in the following areas:

  1. Understanding of the migration phenomenon and its nexus with development in Africa, with specific emphasis on Ethiopia and the migration patterns of women and children.
  2. Profound knowledge of the Ethiopian context.
  3. Prior experience of working/collaborating in African settings.
  4. Ability to effectively coordinate local information gathering.
  5. Proficiency in Italian and English.
  6. Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the field.
  7. Residency in Ethiopia.

Positive consideration will be given to candidates with work/collaboration experience with international cooperation organizations or projects.

Applicants are required to submit their CVs by 5:00 p.m. on April 3, 2024, either via email to cespi@cespi.it or by hand-delivering them to CeSPI's offices at Piazza Venezia 11. Subsequently, they must undergo an interview aimed at further exploring and verifying the experiences and skills outlined in their CVs.

Following the interview, a rating ranging from 1 to 5 will be assigned to each of the listed skills, and a ranking will be compiled accordingly.

The specifics of the contract and compensation will be determined during a subsequent interview, based on the candidate's profile and the number of hours allocated to the assignment.

The collaboration is expected to last until December 31, 2024, at the latest from the date of the agreement signing between the parties, unless extended.
