News: Republic Srpska adopts the Law on the Non-application of decisions of the BiH Constitutional Court

27 June 2023

On 27 June, the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska adopted the law providing for the non-application and enforcement of decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the territory of the Republika Srpska.

The High Representative of the International Community for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, has warned President Srpska, Milorad Dodik, that by doing so he is leading the Republic of Srpska into dangerous isolation. Schmidt also said he will use all the tools at his disposal, provided by the Dayton agreement, against Dodik’s actions.

Milorad Dodik raised the stakes by declaring that he does not recognise the authority of the High Representative as illegitimate and announced a referendum on the status of the Srpska Republic.
