North Macedonia in 2025: Politics, EU Frustration & What Comes Next
The webinar held on 28 November 2025 explored the political situation in North Macedonia and the country’s complex path toward European Union membership. The discussion focused on the growing frustration and uncertainty surrounding the EU integration process, despite continued public support for the European perspective.
Particular attention was given to the results of the 2025 local elections, which strengthened the Eurosceptic ruling party, and to the political and social implications of this development. The webinar also addressed public perceptions of the country’s European future and the main challenges North Macedonia faces within the regional and European context.
The webinar was organized by CeSPI together with European Forum for Democracy and Solidarity and .Foundation Max van der Stoel.
