Focus on international migrations

Marco Zupi
Note n.26 for the International Policy Observatory
Date:
2016

The first section of the Focus is devoted to one of the subjects prevailing in the European debate and political agenda: forced migrations. The link between security, humanitarian and development dimensions is studied in-depth. The regional section is focused on the European Union, analysing data bringing forth the political issue related to the non-implementation of the intra-EU solidarity principle to asylum seekers among various Member States, due to the unjust distribution of obligations resulting from the implementation of the Dublin Regulation. The chapter devoted to the National Observatory analyses the United Kingdom as a case study, due to the importance attributed to the migratory issue in the referendum campaign which has led to Brexit.
