Co-organized with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Department of the Treasury, the event event held on 6 May 2026 brought together the latest outlooks from the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of economic trends in Asia, with particular attention to India.

Drawing on the OECD Economic Outlook for Southeast Asia, China and India, the World Bank South Asia Report, and the Asian Development Outlook, all published in recent weeks, the discussion compared growth prospects, policy trajectories, and trade dynamics between Asia and Europe.

The event also explored the evolving global economic environment — marked by geopolitical tensions, energy market volatility, and persistent inflationary pressures — and assessed how these factors are shaping growth prospects and policy responses across the region.

Finally, the discussion highlighted key structural transformations, including the growing role of digitalization and emerging technologies in driving productivity, competitiveness, and inclusive growth.
