Women’s rights in Albania

As a European Union candidate state, Albania has been under a magnifying glass for their lack of progress towards women’s human rights. While there have been great strides in the policies that have been created to prevent abuse, violence and gender inequality. They have not been sufficiently implemented to the standards of both the European Union and specific United Nations conventions that Albania has signed onto.
