Western Balkans: towards an American accompaniment for a European hegemony?

The article examines the future of bilateral relations between the United States and the European Union in the light of the election of Joe Biden as American President, especially in relation to a renewed cooperation in the Western Balkans. According to the author, a refoundation of the links between Washington and Brussels could serve both to strengthen Europe’s role as a key player in the region and to limit the influence of external actors, provided that the two countries agree on their vision of the future of the Balkans.
