News: Montenegro closes 5 additional negotiating chapters

Montenegro has provisionally closed a further five negotiating chapters during the 24th meeting of the Accession Conference. The newly closed chapters are Chapter 3 (right of establishment and freedom to provide services), Chapter 4 (free movement of capital), Chapter 6 (company law), Chapter 11 (agriculture and rural development) and Chapter 13 (fisheries). This brings the total number of chapters closed to 12 out of 33; the most recent prior closure was Chapter 5 on public procurement, which was closed in June 2025. The closures remain provisional, and monitoring of Montenegro’s alignment with the EU acquis communautaire will continue throughout the accession negotiations.
