News: Kosovo: Kurti wins the elections
Outgoing Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his party Vetëvendosje have won the elections in Kosovo, confirming themselves as the country’s leading political force. The vote comes after months of political instability and institutional uncertainty.
The Srpska Lista, the main party representing the Serb minority, secured all the seats reserved for the Serbian community, maintaining a key role in Parliament.
Following the victory, Kurti called for cooperation among political forces to form a stable government and address the country’s main internal challenges, as well as relations with Serbia.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, commented on the election results by stating that “the new government should double its efforts to implement the much-needed EU-related reforms,” and stressed that “the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, facilitated by the EU, remains the only way for both to advance along their European path.”
