News: Friends of the Western Balkans – Ljubljana

On May 15 and 16, 2025, CeSPI took part in the 7th meeting of the Friends of the Western Balkans network, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to discuss the current political situation in Serbia, the democratic potential of the protests, and possible future scenarios.

The meeting was preceded by a Fact-Finding Mission conducted from May 13 to 14, 2025, in Belgrade and Novi Sad, where a small delegation of experts and researchers — including CeSPI members — met with students, civil society organizations, and opposition parties.

CeSPI is also among the signatories of the final declaration, in which the FoWB network expresses full support for the student protest movement, issues an appeal to the Serbian authorities, and outlines clear guidelines for the European Commission and EU Member States.
