News: European Institutions Commemorate Srebrenica and Call to “Preserve the Truth”
The European Parliament, in a joint statement, commemorated the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, “strongly condemning any denial, distortion, or minimization of the Srebrenica genocide.”
On this occasion, the European Parliament also reaffirmed its commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European perspective.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also addressed the matter, stating that “our duty is to remember and preserve the truth,” and called for the international recognition of the genocide. She also expressed support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU accession process, urging the country’s leaders “to do their part.”
European Council President Antonio Costa, present at the commemoration ceremony in Srebrenica, emphasized the importance of truth and support for Bosnia’s accession.
