Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro prevent Lavrov’s diplomatic visit to Serbia

The war in Ukraine is creating rifts within the Western Balkan region. On 6 June Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, failed to complete his diplomatic visit to Serbia due to the overflight ban imposed by Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro. The event created a serious diplomatic incident with uncertain developments.
