News: European Commission: new €171 million aid package for infrastructure development in the Western Balkans

The European Commission has allocated a €171 million aid package to promote infrastructure development and private sector growth in the Western Balkans.

In particular, €91.8 million will be directed toward infrastructure projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, and North Macedonia. An additional €2.9 million will fund four technical assistance projects in Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, aimed at supporting future investments in the fields of energy, innovation, and research.

A further €76.3 million has been earmarked for programs supporting the private sector.

The projects may be implemented following approval by the Operational Board of the Western Balkans Investment Framework.
