News: Albania: Negotiations opened on Cluster 5

During the seventh meeting of the EU–Albania accession conference, the European Union opened the final group of negotiation chapters. Cluster 5 — covering agriculture and fisheries, food safety, and cohesion policies — is the last of the six thematic groups into which the negotiation chapters are divided.

EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos stated that “success will be determined by how well and how quickly you adopt and implement European legislation in the coming years.” She added, “The real prize lies in closing the clusters — the coming years will be the moment of truth.”

Tirana’s next goal is to conclude negotiations by 2027, in order to achieve full EU membership by 2030.
