News: Bosnia and Herzegovina: EU Delegation and UNESCO sign contract for the construction of the Ars Aevi Museum in Sarajevo

A contract between the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNESCO was signed in Sarajevo, in the presence of EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos, for the construction of the Ars Aevi Museum of Contemporary Art.

The project is financed by the European Union, with a contribution of €4.1 million, as well as by the Italian government, the Sarajevo Canton, and the City of Sarajevo.

The museum, which was created during the war as an act of cultural resistance during the siege of Sarajevo, was designed by architect Renzo Piano and stands as a symbol of the city’s cultural revival.
